Our summer school will be a great way to make new friends and build confidence in all aspects of performance. The focus is always on fun and these high energy classes are fuelled by enthusiastic and experienced teaching staff.

Our talented performing arts team will teach you everything you need to know and you will enjoy every minute of it! Summer school workshops cover: Zumba, Boogie Bounce, (dancing to music on mini trampolines) Ballroom, Latin American, Salsa, Ballet, Creative Contemporary Dance, Modern Theatre, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, National Dance, Cheerleading, Singing, Drama, Musical Theatre, Stage make up and effects, Arts and crafts, Jewellery making with Debbie from Bangles and Dangles, Jenny Wren Music and Kindermusik, Painting Pictures, Face Painting, Musical Instruments, Quizzes and many more! • Our summer schools are a perfect way to have fun in the school holidays.
• The courses are held over 2 weeks in the summer and MUST be booked and paid for in advance.
• Students can come just for single sessions, a day, a couple of days, 1 week, or the full 2 weeks.
• It is a great way to try out different aspects of performing arts, promoting self confidence and fitness.
• The summer school will provide an opportunity to try lots of new and exciting classes.

Frequently asked questions:
Do I have to be a member of Chris Wright's School of Dance and Drama to take part?
NO! Everyone is welcome.

Do I need any experience?
No, but you will need lots of energy and enthusiasm!

Do I need any special equipment?
If you have dance shoes then please bring them but if not, don't worry, we'll provide everything you'll need for each workshop. For dance classes, girls, wear leotard and tights if you have them, if not leggings and a t-shirt. No jeans. Boys, wear jogging bottoms and a T-shirt. For all other classes, a choice of clothes may be worn. If you are staying all day, a packed lunch must be brought with you.

Where does the summer school take place and who can be included?
The summer school takes place at The Temperance Hall, 66a Shellfield Road, Marshside but on Tuesdays only it will take place at Marshside Road Methodist Church Hall, Marshisde Road.
Workshops are split into 2 age groups and are suitable for both boys and girls:
Ages 3 - 7 Ages 8 - 14 Seniors 14+ and Adult classes (See our timetable below)

Times: Monday - Friday 9.30am - 3.30am
Seniors and Adults - Wednesdays and Thursdays 6pm - 9.30pm

Please note: If children are staying all day, please provide them with own packed lunch. (We will provide water or juice at other times during the day when required.)

What if my child is only doing individual sessions but they fall either side of lunch time? Can they stay for lunch?
Yes they can but If you are only booking onto a few individual sessions and you want your child to stay over lunch time, then this must be paid for and counted as a session at £4 per child. All children are supervised by our staff during lunch time and there are quiet activities provided after they finish their lunch.

Timetables: Unless otherwise stated, all sessions are taught by Alison Wright, Anna Wright, Amy Challen or Chris Wright.
Alison Wright is in charge of the summer school and will be there at all times.

Juxta Fitness (Cardio vascular warm up followed by stretches, core strengthening and then it develops to key point fat burning exercises. Doing all this whilst enjoying the latest hip hop music mixes and learning new street styles.

How much does it cost?
Cost:
Come for 1 session, a few sessions, all day, 1 week or 2 weeks!
£4 for individual sessions, (£4.50 for Boogie Bounce)
£21 for any full day
£95 for a full week
£175 for 2 weeks

Seniors 14+ and Adults:
£3.50 for 45 minute session (Tap, Ballet and Body Conditioning)
£4 for hour sessions (Zumba, Ballroom, Latin American, Hip Hop)
£4.50 Boogie Bounce
We will work on a first come first served basis as there is a maximum of 20 places per session. Classes must be paid for at time of booking. The summer school is open to non dancing school members so tell all of your friends!!
